Calling all allies to come out in a show of support & solidarity with the affected LGBTQIA+ students & their families at the Massapequa School District Board of Education meeting.

In September, the Massapequa Board of Education (BOE) passed a resolution to deny LGBTQIA+ students from utilizing the facilities that align with their gender identity despite New York State Law. Since then, the NY State Commissioner of Education has issued a stay on the BOE’s resolution. In response, the Massapequa BOE has filed a Federal Lawsuit claiming the NY State Commissioner of Education does not have the authority to enforce state law in a state of New York public school.

In order to serve, Board of Education members swear to uphold New York State Law and to serve ALL students. Let’s continue to hold them accountable. ALL children deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
