Stand in Solidarity with LGBTQIA+ Students

  • Massapequa High School 4925 Merrick Road Massapequa, NY, 11758 United States (map)

Come stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ students & their families affected by the Massapequa Board of Education’s illegal resolution to deny students access to the facilities that align with their gender identity. March 5th will be an especially important meeting as students involved with the high school’s musical theater will be performing two songs that evening. Let’s show the LGBTQIA+ students in that group that there are those here on Long Island who will stand with them and stand up for their rights.

Meeting starts at 8pm. We will meet in the lobby at 7:30pm. We are there to offer a visual display of support and to send the message that our Nassau community stands with LGBTQIA+ students. Bring or wear your pride finest or you can grab a free pride or trans flag from one of our members prior to the start of the meeting.

Only residents are allowed to speak. If you would like to speak, please sign-up at the desk in the back of the lobby.

It is very important that we do not boo the opposition as we do not want to play into the opposition’s false narratives. Instead, please bring a pride or transgender flag to wave. If you don’t have one of your own, there will be individuals present handing out flags for free.

Please feel free to clap and cheer at the end of speeches you agree with.
